Hezbollah Leader Vows Daily Strikes Against Israel Following Attacks on Communication Devices

Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has vowed to persist with daily strikes on Israel. This comes despite recent attacks on the group's communication devices, which he described as a "severe blow." Nasrallah stated that Israelis displaced from areas near the Lebanon border will not return home until the conflict in Gaza concludes. The ongoing exchanges between Hezbollah and Israel have raised concerns of escalating into a full-scale war.

Hezbollah Leader Promises Retaliation Against Israel

During his speech, Hezbollah launched multiple attacks in northern Israel, resulting in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers. In response, Israeli warplanes flew over Beirut, causing panic among residents. Meanwhile, Israel conducted strikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure. The Israeli government has not confirmed its involvement in the attacks on Hezbollah's devices but has warned of potential larger military operations against the group.

Hezbollah's Retaliation and Casualties

Nasrallah accused Israel of intending to kill thousands by targeting communication devices. He promised retaliation for what he termed as crossing "all boundaries and red lines." The explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday killed at least 37 people, including two children, and injured around 3,000 others. Hezbollah is investigating how these bombings were executed.

The Lebanese Army is working to locate and neutralise suspicious devices following the blasts. The explosions occurred in various locations across Beirut and other parts of Lebanon, affecting civilians in homes, cars, and public places. Health Minister Firas Abiad reported that Wednesday's injuries were more severe due to larger walkie-talkies exploding compared to pagers.

Impact on Communication and Regional Tensions

The attacks have severely disrupted Hezbollah's internal communications as they seek secure ways to communicate. The Lebanese civil aviation authorities have banned pagers and walkie-talkies on flights departing from Beirut's airport. The blasts have heightened fears among Lebanese citizens about a potential full-scale war.

Hezbollah claims its frequent attacks are in support of Hamas amidst Israel's ongoing conflict with the group in Gaza. This conflict began after Hamas militants attacked Israel on October 7. In retaliation to Hezbollah's actions, Israel has conducted strikes in southern Lebanon and targeted senior Hezbollah figures in Beirut.

International Pressure and Military Movements

Both Israel and Hezbollah have avoided an all-out war due to pressure from countries like the United States and France. However, Israeli leaders have expressed intentions to change the current situation significantly. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Hezbollah would "pay an increasing price" as Israel aims to secure its border region for displaced residents.

Israel has been reinforcing its troops along the Lebanon border as a precautionary measure. Plans for further action against Hezbollah are being considered, though no decision has been made regarding a major offensive in Lebanon. The situation remains tense as both sides continue their military engagements.

The recent device attacks have left Lebanon in turmoil, with many fearing further escalation. As investigations continue, the region remains on edge with ongoing military activities and international diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a broader conflict.
