Haryana girl Manushi Chhillar on Saturday was crowned as the Miss World 2017 at the contest held in the Sanya City Arena, China.
Chhillar is the sixth Indian to win the coveted crown. Stephanie Del Valle, the Miss World 2016, passed on her crown to Manushi Chhiller who won the title after elbowing contestants from 108 countries.
Mexico's Andrea Meza was the first runner-up in the contest while England's Stephanie Hill was the second runner-up.
She had previously won Femina Miss India World 2017 in Mumbai on 25 June 2017.
The 21-year-old, who hails from Haryana, is a second-year MBBS student. She studied at St. Thomas School in Delhi and is pursuing her M.B.B.S. course from Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat, Haryana.
The first Indian to win the Miss World crown was Reita Faria, who won the title in 1966. Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra and Diana Hayden were other Indians who have won this prestigious title.
