Guinness World Record-Holding Couple Who Kissed For 58 Hours Announce Separation; Find Out Why
The Thai couple who captured global attention with a 58-hour, 35-minute kiss in 2013, Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat, have announced their separation, as reported by BBC.
The pair, who set a Guinness World Record for the longest kiss, mesmerised the world with their extraordinary endurance and commitment. Their record-breaking achievement required not only incredible dedication but also physical resilience, as they remained standing, locked in a kiss, without sleep for the entire 58 hours and 35 minutes. Their remarkable feat turned them into symbols of love and devotion, and the media spotlight quickly followed.

Despite their global fame, the couple has now revealed that they have decided to part ways. Ekkachai shared the news in a podcast, expressing that while their journey together had been filled with cherished memories, it was time to move forward separately. The couple did not go into specifics regarding the reasons for their split but did mention that they had gradually grown apart over time.
While their romantic relationship has ended, both Ekkachai and Laksana have committed to co-parenting their children with respect and care. They emphasised that they would continue to work together amicably for the sake of their family.
Before setting the record in 2013, Ekkachai and Laksana had previously won the world record in 2011, taking home a grand prize of 100,000 Thai Baht (approximately Rs. 23,465) along with two diamond rings worth 100,000 Baht (around Rs. 2,34,650).
In the wake of their separation, Guinness World Records replaced the longest kiss category with a new record: the longest kissing marathon.
