Google passwords leaked online?

Google
Washington, Sept 11:Rumors taking round of the Web world reveal that a database comprising 4.93 million usernames and passwords of Google accounts was posted on a Russian Bitcoin security forum. The user who posted the details further revealed that 60% of the logins were active and could be used successfully using the credentials.

However, discounting the rumour, Google said in a press conference that there was no information of their database being compromised. Nevertheless, as a backup, Google provided an online tool for users to verify activities on their account. The tool also allows users to partially mask their email IDs.

These rumors come at the heel of news of 4.6 million Mail.ru accounts and over 1.25 million Yandex email IDs being compromised.
