Google Capital to set up first office in India
Washington, Feb 19: Google Capital, the late-stage growth capital fund financed by Google, is reportedly planning to establish their first office in India, According to Tech Crunch, sources in Google said they have plans to employ a Google Capital representative, although his base of functioning is yet not confirmed.
David Lawee, partner of Google Capital reportedly said it made sense to focus on India at the moment for the country is witnessing a huge surge in smartphone users.

While Google Capital has invested in real-estate portal CommonFloor and US-Indian form Freshdesk, it was yet to be seen whether its India-based representative will have any substantial share in Google Capital's fund which is reportedly 300 million dollar, it was reported.
