According to Mirror report, 26-year-old Kathrin, is a secondary school teacher at the Gesamtschule in Krefeld, near Dusseldorf.
Kathrin, who was planning to marry 27-year-old Lubitz, recently shared with her students that 'she was going to be a mum'.
After hearing the news of the plane crash, devastated Kathrin left for France thinking her fiance was one of the victims, but she was shell- shocked when she got to know that Lubitz had deliberately crashed the plane into Alps, killing all on-board.
It was also revealed that Lubitz, who was suffering from depression, had an on-off relationship with Kathrin from last seven years.
Four years ago, the couple moved together to Dusseldorf and shared a flat after Lubitz qualified as a pilot.
But with his erratic and controlling behaviour, Kathrin was about to move out and end the relationship with him.
In a desire to have control over his girlfriend, Lubitz had even bought two Audi cars, just five days before the crash.
It has emerged that Lubitz even tried to tell her what to wear and who she could speak to.
Lubitz also cheated upon Kathrin and had a five-month affair with a German stewardess named as Maria W.
Maria was quoted saying as to the The DailyMail, "He once told me he would do something to change the whole system, that the world would know his name and remember him."
She also revealed that Lubitz was plagued by nightmares and would at times wake up screaming "we're going down".
He even told her once, "One day I'm going to do something that will change the whole system, and everyone will know my name and remember.'
