Funny side up: US pilot 'maydays' passenger fell in ocean

USA
Miami, Nov 16: In a tragic but funny incident, a US pilot said that a passenger fell out of his plane into the Miami ocean. Kathleen Bergen, the spokeswoman of the Federal Aviation Administration, said that the call was made on Thursday afternoon. Sources say that the plane was flying at a height of 2,000 feet when this happened.

According to a report on LiveATC.Net, the pilot radioed saying that a door was left ajar. "I have a door ajar and a passenger that fell down. I'm six miles (9 kilometers) from Tamiami", he said. The transcript goe further:

"You said you've got a passenger that fell out of your plane?" responded the air traffic controller.

"That's correct, sir," the pilot responded. "He opened the back door and he just fell out the plane."

Even as the coast guard and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue air and water units were searching the area on the southeast of Tamiami Executive Airport, they were not sure of the authenticity of the call.
