Five terror attacks foiled in France

A French-Algerian man was arrested on Sunday over the alleged plan, after he apparently shot himself by accident and called an ambulance.

The security was stepped up in France following attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and a supermarket in January this year.

"The threat has never been so high," PM Valls told radio. "We have never had to face this kind of terrorism in our history."

Gunmen attacked the offices of French magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris on January 7, that left 12 people including the editor and celebrated cartoonists dead.

Hamyd Mourad and brothers Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi were main suspect. It was the deadliest terror attack in France since 1961 during the Algerian war.

The act was described as extreme barbarity by President Hollande. The incident was condemned by world leaders.
