Four Indian Students Injured In Russia Attack, 'Swastika' Reportedly Drawn In Blood

A violent stabbing at a medical university dormitory in Russia's Bashkortostan Republic left multiple people injured, including four Indian students, after a teenage attacker allegedly carried out the assault while shouting nationalist slogans linked to the Holocaust. The shocking incident has triggered a high-level investigation by authorities.

Teen Linked To Banned Neo-Nazi Outfit

Local media reports identified the attacker as a 15-year-old allegedly associated with the violent neo-Nazi group National Socialism / White Power (NS/WP) Crew, also known as Sparrows Crew. The organisation was designated a terrorist group by the Supreme Court of Russia in 2021 and has previously been linked to major attacks on journalists, including Anna Politkovskaya.

According to the Baza channel, the teen launched a frenzied assault inside the dormitory that housed foreign students. Disturbing visuals aired by the channel reportedly showed a swastika drawn on a wall, allegedly using the blood of one of the victims.

Eyewitnesses Describe Chaos And Bloodshed

Russia's Interior Ministry confirmed that several students were stabbed during the attack. Eyewitnesses recounted the horrifying scene, with Ren TV quoting them as saying there was "blood all around".

"The attacker resisted arrest, during which two police officers were stabbed. Furthermore, the suspect also inflicted bodily harm on himself," Interior Ministry spokesperson Maj General Irina Volk was quoted as saying by RTVI.com webportal.

Victims' Condition And Attacker Hospitalised

At least six people were injured in Saturday's attack, including the four Indian students and two police officers. The Russian Federal Health Ministry stated that one of the injured remains in serious condition, while three others are being treated for moderate injuries.

The attacker has also been admitted to a local children's hospital and is reportedly in serious condition.

High-Level Probe Launched In Ufa

Authorities in Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan located about 1,200 km east of Moscow, have initiated a high-level investigation to determine the motive and circumstances behind the assault. Officials are expected to examine the suspect's alleged extremist links as part of the probe.
