Former NITI Aayog Employee Killed By Truck In London, Amitabh Kant Reacts
In a tragic road accident, an Indian student died in London. According to the reports, a truck ran over her and she died on the spot. Later, police identified the deceased as 33-year-old Cheistha Kochhar, who was pursuing PhD in London School of Economics. She was the daughter of retired Lieutenant General Dr SP Kochhar, Director General at Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
Before going to London, Kochar served at the nudge unit in #LIFE project at Niti Aayog. The saddening news of Cheistha Kochhar's death was shared by Amitabh Kant on micro-blogging site X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Cheistha Kochar worked with me on the #LIFE program in @NITIAayog. She was in the #Nudge unit and had gone to do her PhD in behavioral science at #LSE. Passed away in a terrible traffic incident while cycling in London. She was bright, brilliant & brave, and always full of life. Gone away too early. RIP," Amitabh Kant said in his post.
Reacting to the heart-wrenching incident, Cheistha's father, in a post, said, "I am still in London trying to collect the remains of my daughter, Cheistha Kochhar. She was run over by a truck on 19 Mar while cycling back from LSE, where she was doing her PhD. It has devastated us and her large circle of friends."
