Tragic Fire at Chinese Shopping Mall Kills 16, Rescue Efforts Continue

A fire at a shopping mall in Zigong, a city in southwestern China, has resulted in the deaths of 16 people, according to state media reports. Social media videos showed thick black smoke billowing from the lower levels of the building and enveloping the entire structure as it rose. Flames were visible, and firefighters used water sprays to combat the blaze. Local media reported that drones were also deployed by firefighters.
