FIFA officials arrested in Zurich on corruption charges
Zurich, May 27: Several Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) officials have been arrested by the Swiss police in Zurich on corruption charges on Wednesday, media reported.
Officials have been arrested from a hotel after police conducted a raid in Zurich early on Wednesday, BBC reported.
According to reports, those arrested will face extradition proceedings to the US where they could federal corruption charges may be waiting for them.
Arrests were made in connection with alleged money laundering, racketeering and wire fraud over the last 20 years.
