Father Turns In Son Tyler Robinson, Suspected of Killing Charlie Kirk at Utah Rally

Tyler Robinson has been named as the suspect in the shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. According to sources cited by the New York Post, Robinson is a 22-year-old resident of Utah.

According to CNN, Robinson admitted to his father that he had shot and killed Kirk during an event at a Utah university the day before yesterday. The father then alerted authorities and monitored his son until law enforcement took him into custody.

According to Utah Governor Spencer Cox, Robinson lives in Southern Utah and admitted his involvement to his father Matt Robinson. After recognising his son in photos released by authorities, Robinson's father urged him to surrender.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox said investigators recovered the weapon and discovered engravings on unspent casings, including the phrase "Hey fascist! Catch!" accompanied by arrow symbols.

According to reports, two law enforcement revealed that the father also alerted clergy members, who then passed the information to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Robinson is accused of firing a single shot that struck 31-year-old Kirk in the neck, killing him during a speaking event at a university in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the New York Times, police arrested Robinson on Thursday night in St. George, near Zion National Park, roughly 250 miles southwest of the campus where Kirk was killed.

This revelation follows President Donald Trump's announcement that the suspect linked to the Turning Point USA founder's shooting has been apprehended.

During an interview with 'Fox & Friends', Trump expressed confidence in Robinson's capture, saying, "I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him." He further mentioned that someone close to Robinson provided information leading to his identification.

The tragic event occurred on Wednesday when Charlie Kirk was shot while answering questions at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem. The 31-year-old was struck in the neck and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Initially, two individuals were detained by law enforcement but were released shortly after.

The FBI subsequently released images and videos showing Robinson attempting to flee the UVU campus following the shooting. A reward of $100,000 has been offered for information leading to his capture.

Governor Spencer Cox stated that Utah intends to seek the death penalty once Robinson is apprehended. Trump echoed this sentiment, expressing hope for a guilty verdict and capital punishment for Robinson. "What he did — Charlie Kirk was the finest person and he didn't deserve this," Trump remarked.
