Well, Pakistan leaves no stone unturned to make a mockery of itself. In the latest development, Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, found himself surrounded by controversy after inaugurating a restaurant in Pakistan's Sialkot that had Pizza Hut's brand name.

​Several pictures and videos of this incident are going viral on social media after Pizza Hut publicly stated that the outlet has no connection with the company.

​Pizza Hut Pakistan Distances Itself From Outlet

Amid widespread trolling, Pizza Hut Pakistan released an official clarification that the Sialkot restaurant is not authorised and does not belong to its franchise network. It also added that the restaurant is misusing its brand name and trademark.

Following this, the company also filed a complaint to take immediate action to stop the unauthorised use of its name.

Social Media Mocks the Incident

The controversy quickly turned into a topic of ridicule on social media, especially on X. Many users mocked the defence minister for inaugurating what was later revealed to be a fake outlet. One user commented that it was embarrassing for a senior minister to open an unauthorised franchise. Another joked that even Pizza Hut itself had denied the restaurant, calling it "not our slice."

Only 16 Outlets Of Pizza Hut In Pakistan

According to Pizza Hut Pakistan, the brand currently operates 16 official outlets in the country. Fourteen of these are located in Lahore, while the remaining two are in Islamabad. The company confirmed that there is no authorised Pizza Hut outlet in Sialkot.

Pizza Hut is a well-known global fast-food chain with a presence in more than 100 countries.

It was founded in 1958 in the United States by brothers Dan and Frank Carney and is now owned by Yum! Brands, which also runs KFC and Taco Bell.
