Facebook post puts woman behind bar in UAE
Abu Dhabi, July 14: An Australian woman has been put behind the bars for a Facebook post in UAE, media reported.
Woman identified as Jodi Magi was arrested and charged under the UAE Cyber Crime Law.
She posted photograph on Facebook in February shaming a driver who parked car across two disabled bays outside her Abu Dhabi apartment, News.com.au reported.
The post had no details but despite this it attracted a police complaint and landed her in court last month.
She was asked to pay a fine of approximately $3,600, and told she would be deported.
Maggi was arrested on Monday when she went to pay the fine. "No one's talking to me, no one's telling me what's going on," she told.

"I'm pretty scared," added she.
It is not known how long Magi will be held by Abu Dhabi authorities.
Jodi Magi a graphic artist, originally from Perth, has been living in Abu Dhabi teaching graphic design to Emirati women since 2012.
