Explosive Scandal: Official Arrested With 400 Sex Video Tapes Featuring President's Sister, Elite Women

Baltasar Engonga, Director General of Equatorial Guinea's National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), was recently arrested amid allegations of recording over 400 sex video tapes involving the spouses of prominent public figures. The scandal broke during a separate fraud investigation against Engonga, 54, when authorities discovered CDs containing explicit material during searches at his home and office.

The recordings reportedly feature high-ranking officials' spouses, including the wife of the Director General of Police, close family members, and relatives of senior government figures such as the sister of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the spouses of several government ministers. Some encounters allegedly took place in Engonga's office, with the national flag visible in the background.

Although reports indicate the encounters were consensual, the videos have since leaked online, sparking public outrage and intense scrutiny from local media. Ahora EG described the revelations as an unprecedented ethical breach by a senior official. Known locally as "Bello," Engonga now faces a national scandal that has implicated multiple high-profile figures.

Attorney General Nzang Nguema clarified that consensual relations are not criminal under current laws but emphasized concerns over public health risks, noting that sexually transmitted diseases could be a consequence of Engonga's alleged actions. He also encouraged anyone facing non-consensual encounters or abuse to come forward in a supportive environment.

In response to the scandal, the government immediately suspended officials engaging in any sexual conduct within ministry offices, reflecting a "zero tolerance" stance on actions that undermine public trust. Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue condemned the behavior in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), stressing that "ethics and respect are fundamental in our Administration" and reinforcing the government's commitment to public service integrity.
