The attraction, titled "The People's House: A White House Experience," opens its doors to the public on Monday. It is designed to allow guests to step into the role of President, complete with the ability to take a simulated phone call from global leaders or snap a photo in the presidential chair. Stewart McLaurin, president of the White House Historical Association, emphasized that this experience provides a unique opportunity to engage with one of the world's most famous offices, as reported by Hindustan Times.

When Biden's successor takes office, the replica will be redecorated to reflect the new president's style, ensuring the attraction remains relevant. In addition to the Oval Office, the centre features an "Immersive Theater" that transforms into notable White House rooms every five minutes, providing visitors with a dynamic educational experience.

The décor in the replica Oval Office, including the wallpaper, draperies, and furniture, closely mirrors the current presidential office. Notably, the family Bible's weathered details are also replicated, offering an authentic touch. A central "digital column" displays the evolution of the Oval Office throughout history, serving as both an informative tool and a mirror for visitors, as reported by Hindustan Times.

As guests explore, they can engage with exhibits that illustrate how presidents use the White House for work and social functions. They can simulate participating in Cabinet meetings or learn about state dinners. A gallery featuring White House staff members showcases their vital roles through video explanations.

Upon entering the centre, visitors will encounter a large model of the south side of the White House, accompanied by an audio greeting from First Lady Jill Biden and an orientation film narrated by Martin Sheen, known for his role as a president in the series "The West Wing."

Located just a block from the White House at 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., the education centre spans three floors, using technology to enhance understanding of the executive mansion's rich history and the lives of the presidents and their families, as per media reports.

Jill Biden has actively participated in the centre's development and plans to host a celebration on the White House lawn for its opening. Admission is free, but visitors must reserve timed tickets. The association anticipates welcoming 800 visitors daily, with most staying for about an hour.

Having raised $60 million for its construction and initial operating costs, the White House Historical Association aims to build a $50 million endowment to ensure the center's sustainability. Founded in 1961 by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, the association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to preserving the White House's historical significance and educating the public without government funding.
