Elon Musk Calls US Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy 'Promising Candidate'

Praising the Indian-American US Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, owner of X, formerly Twitter, Elon Musk addressed him as the "promising candidate".

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, Musk reacted to a clip of Ramaswamy's interview with former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.

This comes months after the Republican leader called out the billionaire's closeness with Chinese ministers after the Tesla CEO took a trip to the country. Elon Musk, who also met China's Foreign Minister, had announced that he will expand his business in the country while praising China's "vitality and promise".

Ramaswamy accused China of using prominent US business leaders as puppets to "advance their agenda".

"It's deeply concerning that Elon Musk met with China's foreign minister yesterday to oppose decoupling and referred to the U.S. & Communist China as "conjoined twins. Tesla's VP in China reposted that statement on Weibo in China, but curiously not here in the US," he had said.

The tech-entrepreneur, who graduated from Harvard and Yale universities, was born to Indian parents who migrated to the US from Kerala.

Musk is known for backing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' campaign for the presidency. In fact, the Tesla CEO had pledged his support months before DeSantis made his campaign official.

However, Musk's praise could indicate that he may jump ship and join the Ramaswamy bandwagon. According to a Fox News survey, the Indian-origin candidate has been shooting up the Republican popularity polls despite being a political novice.

Born on August 9, 1985, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ramaswamy is the son of Indian migrants. He joins Nikki Haley and Hirsh Vardhan Singh as the third Indian-American to challenge former President Donald Trump from within the Republican Party (GOP) in the race for the White House.
