Dont utter a word against China: ULFA warns Dalai Lama ahead of India visit

China had warned of severe damage in ties if the Dalai Lama visited India. Dalai Lama is slated to visit India in the first week of April.

Intelligence Bureau officials have warned against possible trouble during Tibetian spiritual leader Dalai Lama's visit to North East. The Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit India during the first week of April and China has already raised objections to it. In the meanwhile, the ULFA-I has said that Dalai Lama should not visit India.

"Do not utter a word against China," the ULFA-I has advised Dalai Lama. IB officials tell OneIndia that they believe that the warning has been issued at China's behest, where the leader of the terror outfit, Paresh Baruah is hiding.

The terror group has written an open letter in which the spiritual leader has been warned against visiting India. The letter, written by a Abhizeet Asom Barman also says that the Dalai Lama must avoid visiting the North East and also saying a word against China.

In the backdrop of warnings by China and the ULFA, security has been stepped up in the North Eastern states. The IB has warned of China-sponsored violence ahead and during the visit by the Dalai Lama. It may be recalled that China had warned of severe damage to Indo-Chinese relations after the Dalai Lama had announced his visit to India.

Barman further writes in the letter that China has always been a friendly neighbour. 'Nothing should be uttered against China and we will not tolerate India's view to be propagated from Assam's soil,' Barman writes in the letter.

Intelligence agencies tracking Baruah's movements had found that he resides at Ruili in China's Yunan province. He had moved between Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh before finding shelter in China, IB officials say.
