Donald Trump’s Family Tree: Meet His Parents, Siblings, And Get A Glimpse of His Wife & Children
Donald Trump has become a household name, linked to real estate, reality television, and politics. Over the years, the Trump family has grown to include various notable figures in the business and political spheres, creating a web of both professional and personal connections.
Understanding the Trump family tree goes far beyond the Trump Organization's business directory. Donald, who won the 2024 presidential election, is the fourth of five children born to real estate developer Fred Trump and Scottish immigrant Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. Donald's siblings include a former federal judge, an airline pilot, and a banking executive. Donald and his late brother Robert worked together at the Trump Organization.

Here's a closer look at Donald Trump's immediate and extended family.
Donald Trump's Parents
Frederick Christ Trump Sr.
Frederick Christ Trump Sr. was the patriarch of the Trump family. He married Mary Anne MacLeod in 1936, and together they had five children: Maryanne, Elizabeth, Fred Jr., Donald, and Robert. Although Donald has often claimed his father was born in Germany, Fred Sr. was actually born in New York City in 1905.
Fred began his career at the age of 15 by starting his own construction company, building garages for the rising popularity of automobiles. He eventually became a successful real estate developer, constructing over 27,000 apartments and row homes in Brooklyn and Queens after World War II. By his death in 1999, Fred had amassed an estimated fortune of $300 million.
Fred Sr. was often described as emotionally abusive by his granddaughter Mary L. Trump in her book Too Much and Never Enough, though this account has been disputed by Donald and Robert. Fred Sr. passed away in June 1999.
Mary Anne MacLeod Trump
Mary Anne MacLeod was born in May 1912 on a remote Scottish island. She immigrated to the United States in the 1930s and married Fred Trump in 1936. Together, they had five children and eight grandchildren. Mary became an active philanthropist and contributed to various causes, particularly those related to individuals with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy. She passed away in August 2000 at the age of 88.
Donald Trump's Siblings
Maryanne Trump Barry
Maryanne Trump Barry was born in 1937 and was the eldest child of Fred and Mary. She had a long career in law, eventually becoming a federal judge. She was nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1999 by President Bill Clinton. Barry retired in 2017 after a distinguished career. In 2019, following controversial remarks about her brother Donald, Barry retired from her judicial duties. She passed away in November 2023 at the age of 86.
Frederick Christ "Freddy" Trump Jr.
Freddy Trump Jr. was born in 1938. He married Linda Clapp in 1962, and they had two children: Frederick III and Mary Trump, who later became authors. Freddy was expected to take over the family real estate business but chose to pursue a career as a pilot instead, which led to tensions with his father and younger brother Donald. He struggled with alcoholism and died from a heart attack in 1981 at the age of 42.
Elizabeth Trump Grau
Born in 1942, Elizabeth Trump Grau is the middle child of Fred and Mary. Elizabeth worked as an administrative assistant at Chase Manhattan Bank and later married TV and movie producer James Grau in 1989. The couple has no children. Elizabeth lives a relatively private life but gained some media attention in 2020 when a social media account falsely claimed to represent her in support of overturning the 2020 election results.
Robert Stewart Trump
Robert Trump, born in 1948, was the youngest child of Fred and Mary. Robert had a career on Wall Street before joining the family business. He was married to Blaine Trump for 25 years and later to Ann Marie Pallan in 2020. Robert passed away in August 2020 at the age of 71 after a period of poor health. He was 71 years old when he died, and his funeral service was held at the White House.
Donald Trump's Children And Grandchildren
Donald Trump has five children from his three marriages. With Ivana Trump, he has Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka, all of whom have been involved with the Trump Organization. Tiffany, his daughter with Marla Maples, is a lawyer. Barron, his son with Melania Trump, graduated from high school in May 2024. Donald also has 10 grandchildren, with another one on the way.
As the Trump family continues to expand, the connections between personal and professional lives remain complex, with multiple generations involved in both business and politics. With a growing number of public figures within the family, the Trump legacy is far from over.
