Doklam standoff: After skipping Friday border meet, will China show up tomorrow
However, with the Chinese skipping the Friday meeting, India is keen on knowing whether they would turn up tomorrow.
All eyes would be on the Chinese on August 15. India is interested in knowing if China would send its team for the ceremonial border personnel meeting to be held on August 15. The meeting is an important one as India hopes to calm tempers amidst the Doklam standoff.

A meeting at Nathu La which was scheduled for Friday did not take place as the Chinese did not show up. The border personnel meetings are important and they take place at five locations at the Line of Actual Control every year. Such meetings are held on Republic Day, Independence Day and PLA Day.
The locations for these meetings are at Daulat Beg Oldie and Chushul in Ladakh, Bum La and Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh and Nathu La in Sikkim. These meetings help both countries maintain peace.
However, with the Chinese skipping the Friday meeting, India is keen on knowing whether they would turn up tomorrow. India has sent out an invite to the PLA for the meeting, but there has been no response as yet. Indian officials say that the meeting scheduled for August 1, PLA day did not take place.
