A tweet from Charlie Kirk in 2014 has resurfaced after the conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University (UVU).

In the post, Kirk wrote on June 22, 2014,"Did I just get shot by an AR-15? Feels like it."

The tweet has gained renewed attention as shocking videos from the UVU shooting show Kirk struck by gunfire. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead roughly 90 minutes later. The weapon used has not been officially confirmed.

The Shooting at Utah Valley University

During his speech at the university, a single gunshot rang out. Video footage shows Kirk clutching his neck as blood poured from one side. Witnesses described panic as attendees scrambled to exit the venue. Utah Valley University officials confirmed the campus was immediately locked down, classes were canceled, and authorities apprehended an individual unrelated to the shooter.

Turning Point USA confirmed the incident. PR manager Aubrey Laitsch stated: "We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie."

Kirk had been responding to a question about shootings moments before the fatal shot, adding a chilling layer to his 2014 tweet.

Political figures and public personalities reacted swiftly. Former President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social:

"We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!"

Vice President JD Vance added on X: "Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father." Other figures across political lines, including Pete Buttigieg and Eric Trump, condemned the shooting and expressed prayers for Kirk and those affected.

Nick Fuentes, a conservative commentator, tweeted: "This feels like a nightmare... Pray for Charlie Kirk's soul, his young family, and for our country."

David Hogg commented on the violence: "Horrifying news that Charlie Kirk has been shot... Gun violence and political violence have to f------ stop."

Kirk's visit to UVU had drawn mixed reactions, with nearly 1,000 signatures on a petition urging the cancellation of his appearance. The university emphasized First Amendment rights and commitment to constructive dialogue in its official statement.

Kirk is survived by his wife Erika and their two children.
