Democrats Protest With 'Musk Steals, False' Placards During Trump's First Congress Address Of Second Term

Democrats held up placards in protest as United States President Donald Trump delivered his first address to Congress since beginning his second term in office.

Some Democratic lawmakers displayed black signs with messages such as "Save Medicaid", "Protect Veterans", and "Musk Steals". Notably, Elon Musk heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump's administration.

Others held up placards reading "False" to challenge what they deemed "misleading" statements, particularly as Trump asserted that he had achieved more in 43 days than the previous administration had in four years.

During his speech, Trump blamed Joe Biden's policies for rising energy prices, increased grocery costs, and making essential goods unaffordable for millions of Americans.

"As president, I'm fighting every day to reverse this damage and make America affordable again," he stated.

Meanwhile, Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas was escorted out of the House chamber after interrupting Trump's address by shouting, "You don't have a mandate."

As Democrats continued their protest, Trump responded: "Democrats, for just this one night, why don't you join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America? And if you love our nation, then let's work together and truly make America great again."
