Israel Intensifies Strikes in Lebanon as Netanyahu Promises Strong Response to Hezbollah Violations

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has pledged to continue striking Hezbollah "with an iron fist" if they violate the truce. This statement followed a series of Israeli airstrikes that killed nearly a dozen people in Lebanon. These airstrikes were in response to Hezbollah's warning shots over alleged Israeli ceasefire breaches.

Hezbollah's Response and Gaza Conflict

Hezbollah began its attacks on Israel last year, launching rockets, drones, and missiles in support of Hamas militants engaged in conflict within the Gaza Strip. The conflict in Gaza erupted when Hamas-led militants invaded southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and the capture of around 250 hostages.

The ongoing war in Gaza has led to significant destruction across the coastal region. According to Gaza's Health Ministry, at least 44,502 Palestinians have been killed, with more than half being women and children. However, the ministry does not specify how many of these were combatants.
