Corrupt Sitting President: Trump Slams Biden In First Speech After Court Appearance

In his first public speech after the court appearance in Miami, Former United States President Donald Trump has labelled Joe Biden "the most corrupt president in history".

Trump also pleaded not guilty to dozens of criminal counts of mishandling some of the US government's most sensitive secrets.

"Today we witness the most evil and heinous abuse of power in the history of our country. The very sad thing to watch, a corrupt sitting president had his top political opponent arrested on fake and fabricated charges of which he and numerous other presidents would be guilty," said Donald Trump.

"This is called election interference and yet another attempt to rig and steal a presidential election. More importantly, it's political persecution, like something straight out of a fascist or a communist nation. This day will go down in infamy and Joe Biden will forever be remembered as not only the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps even more importantly, the president, who, together with a band of his closest thugs, misfits, and Marxists, tried to destroy American democracy," he said.

The Republican had encouraged supporters to show up at the federal courthouse -- and hundreds did -- while the 2024 presidential candidate fired off a few posts on his social media app, calling it a "WITCH HUNT" and "ONE OF THE SADDEST DAYS IN THE HISTORY OF COUR COUNTRY".

The case is loaded with political implications for the 76-year-old Trump, who currently holds the dominant spot in the early days of the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

The arraignment, though largely procedural in nature, is the latest in an unprecedented public reckoning this year for Trump, who faces charges in New York arising from hush money payments during his 2016 presidential campaign as well as ongoing investigations in Washington and Atlanta into efforts to undo the results of the 2020 race.
