'Close Up Shop And Move Back To South Africa': US President Donald Trump's Deportation Warning To Elon Musk
US President Donald Trump issued a warning to his former advisor, Elon Musk. Trump suggested that Musk might need to shut down operations and return to South Africa. This statement was made on Truth Social amid ongoing tensions between the two over the 'Big Beautiful Bill'.
Trump's comments come after Musk criticised the 'One Big Beautiful Bill', calling it a "disgusting abomination" due to its increased deficit and reduced EV tax credits. Musk's criticism marked the beginning of their public fallout in early June. He also considered forming a third political party, citing dissatisfaction with both major parties.

Feud Over Electric Vehicle Mandate
The disagreement between Trump and Musk intensified over the electric vehicle mandate. Trump stated that he has always opposed the mandate, which was a significant part of his campaign. He argued that while electric cars are acceptable, they shouldn't be mandatory for everyone.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one."
Potential Financial Implications
Trump further claimed that Musk receives more subsidies than anyone else in history. He suggested that without these subsidies, Musk might have to cease operations and return to South Africa. Trump added that ending rocket launches and electric car production could save the country significant amounts of money.
"No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE," Trump stated on Truth Social.
Musk's Response and Allegations
Musk responded by accusing Trump of ingratitude, asserting that his support was crucial for Trump's election victory. He even hinted at impeachment on X and suggested decommissioning SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft used by NASA. The feud escalated when Musk alleged Trump's involvement in Epstein files but later retracted this claim.
The tension reached new heights when Trump threatened to terminate billions in government contracts and subsidies for Musk's companies. This came after Musk's criticism of Trump's administration and policies continued unabated.
