Chinese Influencer’s Viral Video Warns: This Car Issue Could Cause Brake Failure –Shares Tip To Fix It
Modern cars come with many advanced features, some of which are not widely known. While most drivers are familiar with automatic transmissions and airbags, other important safety features, like the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), often go unnoticed until they malfunction.
A recent viral video has brought attention to the importance of the ABS warning light on car dashboards. This feature is not available in all cars in India, but it plays a crucial role in road safety. If this warning light appears, drivers should stop their vehicle immediately to avoid serious mechanical issues.
The video, shared on Instagram by car enthusiast @chequanxiaoqiao, explains why the ABS warning light should never be ignored. The content creator, who has 67 lakh followers, regularly shares informative car-related videos. In her latest post, she highlights that a malfunctioning ABS could lead to brake failure, which can be dangerous.
What Is ABS?
ABS stands for Anti-lock Braking System. It prevents the wheels from locking up during sudden braking, allowing the driver to maintain control of the vehicle. If the ABS warning light turns on, it means the system is not working properly. This could increase the risk of accidents, as braking performance may be affected.
In the video, the content creator demonstrates how to diagnose and fix the issue. She first removed the front tyre and checked the left wheel speed sensor using a multimeter. A working sensor should have a resistance reading of around 1.3, but in her case, it showed infinity, indicating that the sensor had burnt due to a short circuit. A faulty sensor will keep the ABS warning light on.
To resolve the problem, she replaced the sensor herself. The part cost her around Rs 4,500, significantly cheaper than the estimated Rs 2 lakh repair cost at a garage. According to The Daily Star website, this price is based on UK rates, and the cost may be lower in India. After replacing the sensor and restarting the car, the warning light disappeared.
This video has gained widespread attention, with over 3 lakh views. Many viewers appreciated the valuable information, highlighting the importance of understanding car safety features.
