China launches new search engine
Beijing, March 22: A new Chinese-language online search engine -Chinaso.com -was launched on Friday, marking China's first search service set up by the country's major news organisations.

The new engine allows users to search articles from the country's newspapers and magazines. Its service covers news, website, pictures, videos and maps, with 16 channels ranging from economy to sports and applications for mobile users.

Developed by an information technology company, the search engine has been jointly founded by the country's four major newspapers, two news agencies and state television including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television.

ChinaSo- the 'so' in this context means search. It even resembles the Google logo with its multi-colour pattern.

All search engines that operate out of China follow strict media policies and are under thorough scrutiny. Reports question the introduction of China. So in this environment.

ChinaSo covers a huge array of topics ranging from newspapers, finance, videos and more.
