Five vehicles have been recovered so far even as the rescue operations are on. The visuals from the CCTV showed a partially submerged section of the bridge with the river rushing over it.

The video clips of the incident are going viral online.

The northern and central China have been hit by rains since Tuesday, triggering flooding and causing a lot of damage.

On Friday, state media reported that the rains had triggered flooding and mudslides in Baoji city, Shaanxi province, resulting in at least five deaths and eight people missing.

China is enduring a summer of extreme weather, with heavy rains pounding the east and south, while the north has sweltered through consecutive heat waves.
