Cards Against Humanity Accuses SpaceX of Trespassing on Texas Property in New Lawsuit

The creator of Cards Against Humanity has accused Elon Musk's SpaceX of trespassing and damaging a piece of land it owns in Texas. The company filed a lawsuit in a Texas court, claiming SpaceX has been using the property in Cameron County as its own for at least six months.

Cards Against Humanity Sues SpaceX Over Trespassing

Cards Against Humanity, based in Chicago, bought the land in 2017. This purchase was part of a campaign against former President Donald Trump's border wall plans. The company stated that 150,000 people contributed USD 15 each to support this cause.

Allegations Against SpaceX

The lawsuit alleges that SpaceX placed construction materials like gravel and debris on the land without permission. This action reportedly occurred after SpaceX acquired other nearby plots. Despite requests for comment, SpaceX has not responded.

Cards Against Humanity claims the land has been kept in its natural state over the years. A "no trespassing" sign was also installed to indicate private ownership and deter unauthorized access.

Seeking Compensation

The game company is seeking USD 15 million in damages. This amount includes compensation for the loss of vegetation on the property. The lawsuit highlights the impact of SpaceX's actions on the land's condition.

This legal action underscores ongoing tensions between private property owners and large corporations expanding their operations. The outcome could set a precedent for similar disputes in the future.
