Cameroon to close borders with Nigeria over Ebola

Ebola
Yaounde (Cameroon), Aug 19: The Cameroonian government has decided to close its border with Nigeria to prevent the spread of Ebola virus from the neighbouring country.

"We are on the way to close the border with Nigeria because of Ebola," Xinhua quoted Issa Tchiroma Bakary, government spokesperson and communication minister, as saying Monday.

Bakary didn't say when the border will be closed.

According to the latest report, there is no case of Ebola ever found in the central African country which shares a border with Nigeria for around 2,000 km.

Ebola, which broke out in Guinea in March and spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, has claimed over 1000 lives.
