Brother of Afghan envoy to India shot dead in Kandahar mosque
Kabul, Dec 16: Afghan Ambassador to India Shaida Mohammad Abdali's brother was shot dead by unidentified gunmen when he was offering prayers in a mosque in southern Kandahar province.
Abdali's brother Haji Sardar Mohammad was offering prayers in mosque in Kandahar city when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him on Monday, Khaama Press reported.

Kandahar province governor's spokesman Samim Khpalwak confirmed the incident, saying the gunmen fled the area following the murder but security forces are looking for them.
Former President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned the killing and said the attack was carried out by the enemies of the people of Afghanistan.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Haji Sardar was a community elder in Kandahar.
