Brooklyn Restaurant Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, 8 Hurt; 36 Shell Casings Found

A tragic shooting inside a Brooklyn restaurant claimed three lives and left eight others injured early Sunday morning, according to the New York City Police Department.

According to HT NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press briefing that the shooting took place inside Taste of the City Lounge in the Crown Heights neighbourhood at around 3:30 a.m. She confirmed that all three of the deceased victims were men. Two of them were identified as being 27 and 35 years old, while the age of the third has not yet been specified.

Tisch also revealed that investigators recovered at least 36 shell casings from the site, pointing to the intensity of the gunfire. However, she noted that no arrests have been made so far and the suspects involved in the incident remain unidentified.

Providing an update on the survivors, the Commissioner said the eight injured individuals were immediately taken to local hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening, offering some relief amid the tragedy.

"It's a terrible thing that happened this morning, and we're going to investigate to determine what went down," Tisch told reporters, emphasizing that police are working to piece together the sequence of events.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the Crown Heights community, with residents expressing concern over the violence. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
