In a video message shared on X account, it was announced by Provincial General Secretary Balochistan for PTI, Salar Khan Kakar, that three workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf had been martyred, and 7 others were injured.
However, according to Pakistan's Dawn newspaper, it was reported by the medical superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital in Sibi, Dr Babar, that five people were injured in the blast.
The report mentioned that the injured individuals were taken to a hospital, with officials stating that the condition of most of them was critical, and there was a possibility of an increase in the death toll.
The camera captured the moment when the bomb blast occurred in the Sibi area of Balochistan, revealing PTI members scrambling after a loud noise was heard.
The blast at an election rally organized by party-backed candidate Saddam Tareen was stated by PTI leader Salar Khan Kakar. He added, "This heartbreaking incident is strongly condemned by us, and attention should be given to suppressing terrorists instead of PTI workers." The blast took place just nine days before the February 8 general elections.
The incident has been taken notice of by the Election Commission of Pakistan, and an "immediate report" has been sought from Balochistan's chief secretary and police chief.
