Boeing 747 Burning Viral Video: What Went Wrong On Alaska Airlines?
An emergency landing was made by a Boeing 747 cargo plane on Thursday night after flames were observed spewing in the night sky over Miami.
The latest incident on an Atlas Air flight will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, which is already examining Boeing following an Alaska Airlines flight's emergency landing this month due to a door plug falling off the fuselage midair, as stated in a Friday statement.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one of the Twitter users wrote, " Atlas Air Boeing 747-8 catches fire with sparks shooting out during mid flight." The X user also attached a horrifying video in which one could the plane burning and taking an emergency landing.
Emergency Landing After Engine Malfunction
An emergency landing was made by Flight 5Y095, an Atlas Air cargo plane en route to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico, after experiencing an engine malfunction post-departure from Miami International Airport.
The airlines stated that the flight landed safely, following standard procedures, and the crew safely returned to Miami International Airport. Atlas Air emphasized its commitment to safety and announced plans for a thorough inspection to determine the cause.
What Happened With Flight 5Y095?
The plane took off at 10:22 p.m. ET Thursday, returning to Miami at 10:30 p.m., according to the FAA. A preliminary examination revealed a softball-sized hole above the #2 engine, reported NBC News.
Eyewitness Account And Video Footage
Eyewitnesses, including a resident who recorded the incident on Instagram, reported seeing the plane with what appeared to be a trail of fire. The video captured the intense moment as the plane flew across the sky, leaving a line of bright yellow and red sparks.
Melanie Adaros, who witnessed the incident, described the surreal sight, mentioning the unusual sound of the plane and the sparks, adding to the surreal atmosphere. Atlas Air, known for shipping various cargo and arranging large group passenger charters, experienced this incident amid ongoing scrutiny of Boeing's safety.
Ongoing Boeing Issues
The Miami incident adds to the series of problems involving Boeing. Two weeks prior, an Alaska Airlines flight incident led to the grounding of specific Boeing 737 Max 9 planes across the U.S. The FAA emphasized safety over speed in returning the grounded aircraft to service.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the Atlas Air incident. Boeing pledged its support for the investigation, emphasizing its commitment to supporting the NTSB in understanding the incident's details.
