Biden's Campaign Confident He's the Top Choice to Contest Trump
Incumbent President Joe Biden is the best candidate to challenge Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the November elections, according to his campaign. "The president is in this race. You've heard him say that time and time again," said Jen O'Malley Dillon, chair of the Biden-Harris Campaign, during an interview with MSNBC.

Dillon emphasised Biden's commitment to defeating Trump. "I think we saw on display last night exactly why. Because Donald Trump is not going to offer anything new to the American people. He's the same person he was in 2020. He's the same person he was at the debate stage. He's the same person he is — about himself and not about the American people. Joe Biden is more committed than ever to beat Donald Trump," she stated.
Biden's Support and Strategy
"The president has the delegates. He has the support. He was elected in this process by 14 million voters. In 2020 by 81 million, more than anyone before him," Dillon noted. She highlighted that Biden's coalition is larger than those opposing his run and that these supporters are active in crucial states.
Many top Democrats want Trump to step aside for a new nominee to avoid significant party losses in November. However, Dillon remains confident in Biden's ability to lead and win against Trump.
Campaign Challenges and Voter Engagement
Dillon acknowledged the difficulties faced by the campaign but remained optimistic. "This is definitely a hard period for the campaign," she admitted. However, she believes that when voters see Biden's leadership and vision contrasted with Trump's, they will support Biden.
"We believe in this campaign. We are built for the close election that we are in, and we see the path forward," Dillon said. She stressed that Biden is both the leader of their campaign and of the country, making him the best person to take on Trump.
Voter Confidence and Vision
Dillon expressed confidence in winning over undecided voters. "When they see those two ahead and the visions they have for this country, there's no doubt in my mind that the American people are going to be with Joe Biden," she said.
"But when the president has been out there talking to voters and being with voters when they have seen him, seen him lay out the contrast, shown that he is doing the job of leading this country and his [candidacy], they see in him the person that's going to win," Dillon added.
Dillon reiterated that Biden's campaign is prepared for a close election and sees a clear path forward. She believes that Biden's leadership qualities make him well-suited to present his vision against Trump's.
