Biden Congratulates Trump, Promises Peaceful Transfer Of Power After Election
President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Thursday after Vice President Kamala Harris conceded the 2024 presidential election to President-elect Donald Trump.
In a Rose Garden speech, Biden expressed his congratulations to Trump and assured him that the Biden administration would work closely with the incoming team to ensure a "peaceful and orderly transition," emphasizing that this was what the American people deserved, as reported by Fox News.

Biden's First Address After Harris Lost
Biden also took a moment to commend Harris for her "inspiring campaign" and praised her "great character" and unwavering strength.
Highlighting unity and the democratic process, Biden reflected on political campaigns as a "contest of competing visions." He urged Americans to accept the choice made by voters, stating, "You can't love your country only when you win, and you can't love your neighbour only when you agree." He emphasized the importance of seeing one another as fellow Americans, regardless of political differences.
In his address, Biden expressed hope that the 2024 election results would finally "lay to rest" questions surrounding the integrity of the U.S. electoral system, asserting that the election process is "honest, fair, transparent, and trustworthy-win or lose."
The speech followed Harris' concession on Wednesday, with her campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, describing the defeat as "unfathomably painful." Despite the loss, Dillon vowed to begin efforts to protect America from the potential impacts of a Trump presidency, signaling the road ahead for Democrats in the post-election landscape.
