President Biden Administered Fourth Paxlovid Dose, Reports Health Progress

US President Joe Biden, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, has completed his fourth dose of PAXLOVID on Friday morning, according to his physician. "President Biden completed his fourth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His loose, non-productive cough and hoarseness continue to be his primary symptoms, but they have improved meaningfully from yesterday Thursday. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal," Dr Kevin C O’Connor said in a memorandum to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on July 17 and has been self-isolating at his Delaware residence since then. Despite the isolation, he continues to perform all his duties fully. "The President continues to tolerate treatment well. We will continue PAXLOVID as planned. In the meantime, the President continues to work for the American people," Dr O’Connor noted.

Health Status and Treatment

Dr O’Connor provided detailed updates on Biden's health status. "His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear. Polymerase Chain Reaction PCR testing yesterday Thursday was confirmatory for SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19. Variant identification is still pending. All of his bloodwork was normal," he said.

The President's Complete Blood Count (CBC) showed no signs of anaemia or bacterial infection. Additionally, his Comprehensive Metabolic Panel indicated normal electrolytes and good kidney and liver function, according to the White House physician.

Biden's primary symptoms have been a loose, non-productive cough and hoarseness, which have shown significant improvement since Thursday. His vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature, remain within normal ranges.

Dr O’Connor assured that Biden is tolerating the treatment well and that they will continue with the PAXLOVID regimen as planned. The President remains committed to his responsibilities despite being in isolation.
