Barcelona terror: Second attack foiled by police, 6 injured
Six civilians and one police personnel has been injured in a second attack in Spain, the Catalan government has said. The second attack at Cambrils hours after Las Ramlas was struck was however foiled.
Police warned people to stay off the streets, with shots reported in the port of Cambrils. Thirteen people died and dozens were injured when a van ploughed into crowds in Barcelona's Las Ramblas area on Thursday afternoon.
Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said it was a "jihadist attack".
Earlier four terrorists were shot dead in connection with the Barcelona attack. A spokeswoman for the Catalan police has confirmed that officers shot dead four alleged perpetrators and injured one more during the counter-terror raid in Cambrils. Another person was shot after driving through a police check-point, but officials said that the dead person had nothing to do with the attack.
