B'desh: Five killed in fresh clashes over Jamaat leader's execution

According to reports, five Jamaat activists were killed on Monday in southeastern district of Satkhira as police and protesters clashed over the execution of Mollah.
The police had to open fire on bomb-throwing Islamist protesters. On Sunday, 21 people were reportedly killed during the nationwide protests.
Abdul Quader Mollah was known as the "Butcher of Mirpur".
While protesting against Mollah's execution, Jamaat has also criticised the Pakistani government for not speaking up against this act.
65-year-old Abdul Quader Mollah, known as the "Butcher of Mirpur" for atrocities committed during Bangladesh's 1971 liberation war, was hanged on Thursday night after the Supreme Court rejected his review petition.
His hanging came three days before the country celebrated the 42nd Victory Day, which commemorates Bangladesh's triumph in the nine-month bloody war against the Pakistani occupation forces in 1971.
He was the first politician to be put to death for war crimes. Violence erupted at several places soon after his execution, which the Jamaat described as a "political murder" even as it vowed to take revenge.
On the contrary, supporters of the ruling Awami League celebrated the execution of Mollah.
