Baloch Militants Hijack Pakistan's Jaffar Express Train; Over 180 Taken As Hostages, 20 Dead
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Tuesday reportedly hijacked passenger train Jaffar Express in Pakistan. It was learned that over 180 passengers had been taken hostage and 20 were killed.
BLA has warned Pakistan against any military intervention, threatening severe consequences.

The incident occurred while the train was en route from Quetta in Balochistan to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The BLA stated that their fighters executed a "meticulously planned operation" in Mashkaf, Dhadar, Bolan. They blew up the railway track, forcing the train to stop, and swiftly took control of it.
Hostage Situation and Threats
A spokesperson for the BLA mentioned that the operation was conducted by the Majeed Brigade Fateh Squad and STOS. They claimed six military personnel were killed during the takeover. The group has issued a warning stating that any military action would result in severe consequences, including executing all hostages.

The militant group has released women, children, and Baloch passengers. They claim that only Pakistani military personnel and other security agency members remain as hostages. However, official confirmation regarding casualties or the status of hostages is still pending from local authorities.

Government Response and Security Measures
In response to this crisis, Shahid Rind, a government spokesperson, announced that restrictions have been imposed across the province. All institutions have been mobilised to address the situation effectively. Additionally, more security forces have arrived at the site to manage the unfolding events.
