Bahrain Prime Minister hails ties with India
Manama, April 20: Bahraini Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has praised India-Bahrain ties, media reported on Monday.
"C-operation between Bahrain and India can still be expanded to cover many areas to enhance outstanding ties between them," he was quoted as saying by Gulf Daily News.
"Doors are wide open for more trade and economic co-operation," he said after receiving outgoing Indian Ambassador Mohan Kumar at Gudaibiya Palace on Sunday.
Emphasising Bahrain's keenness to bolster co-operation with India he said that our relations are based on mutual respect and joint interests.
He also appreciated the landmark contributions of the Indian expatriate community to all development fields in Bahrain and commended Mohan Kumar's efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing co-operation.
Suggestion on spousal rape opposed in Bahrain
Kumar expressed his country's admiration of the landmark development strides made by the government, led by the Premier, which, he affirmed, has entitled Bahrain to be a leader in the political, economic and development fields.
The Indian Ambassador expressed pride in Bahrain as a bright model of co-existence and cohesion. He also thanked the government for supporting the Indian expat community in Bahrain.
