Aurangzeb Ahmed, PAF Air Vice Marshal, Fired Due To Radiation Leak at Pakistan Nuclear Site?

A document claiming that Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Aurangzeb Ahmed of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been fired from service is circulating widely on social media. The letter alleges he was sacked for failing to safeguard the Kirana Hills nuclear facility, which allegedly led to a radiation leak. Following the document's viral spread, search interest in "Aurangzeb" surged with Google Trends data showing a notable spike in queries.

Aurangzeb Ahmed PAF Air Vice Marshal Fired Over Radiation Leak at Pakistan Nuclear Sites

The sudden attention surrounding the document may be surprising to some, but it's not unexpected. AVM Aurangzeb Ahmed, the official spokesperson for the PAF, has become somewhat of a household name among Pakistan's youth for his calm and composed appearances during military briefings. However, his public persona has garnered an entirely different reaction from audiences in India, where he's become a source of viral memes and ridicule.

One such moment that went viral was when Ahmed attempted to explain why India's S-400 air defense system is so difficult to identify. His explanation fell flat when he said, "Identifying S-400... er... attacking them is the easier part than identifying it on ground because it is mobile, it is a high-value thing and you guard it... it's kind of a centre of gravity."

This baffling response led to a wave of online mockery, especially on social media. That phrase - "centre of gravity" - instantly became meme fodder.

Sharing the post, X user @thephukdi humorously remarked: "When the madrasa starts teaching science and English."

Now, the same "centre of gravity" line has resurfaced - this time in a mock termination letter allegedly from the Ministry of Defence that's being widely shared online. In the letter, which claims to have been issued on May 14, 2025, Aurangzeb Ahmed is purportedly fired for failing to safeguard the Kirana Hills nuclear facility. The letter itself includes the term "centre of gravity" in an exaggerated manner-yet another connection to his earlier press briefing blunder.

Though the document has gone viral, it is far from official. It includes several unmistakable signs of parody, such as the phrase "Baingan | Satire" at the top and the overuse of military jargon. These inconsistencies clearly indicate that the letter is satirical in nature. Despite this, it has been widely shared across platforms like X, Facebook, and WhatsApp, causing confusion among some users who mistake it for a genuine communication.

Here's some of the memes poking fun at Aurangzeb Ahmed's 'centre of gravity' line.

As of now, there has been no official response from the Government of Pakistan or the Ministry of Defence regarding any action against AVM Aurangzeb Ahmed.
