At least 23 killed in Bangladesh stampede
Dhaka, July 10: At least 23 people were killed and over scores injured in a stampede in Bangladesh during a charity handout on Friday, media reported.
The stampede took place early in the morning at an event of clothes distribution in Mymensingh town, bdnews24.com reported.
A large number of people gathered outside a chewing tobacco factory and they stormed in when the gates were opened to collect free clothing.
Seven people including Shamim Talukder, the owner of Nurani Jorda factory have bene detained.

"At least 13 bodies had been taken to the Mymensingh Medical College hospital morgue and that he suspected some had been taken away by relatives," said police official.
The death toll is likely to go up.
