Indian players performed strongly on Thursday in the Asian Games being played in Hangzhou, China. On 21st September, the Indian women's cricket team first performed brilliantly against Malaysia. Due to rain, the match of 15-15 overs was played between India and Malaysia. Indian women's team set the target of 173 runs in 15 overs.

Cricket Match Cancelled Due To Rain: Indian team missed winning against Malaysia. This match was cancelled midway due to rain. Due to better ranking in ICC, the Indian women's team directly succeeded in making its place in the semi-finals. The Indian women's team will now participate directly in the semi-final match on September 24.

Indian Men's Football Team Won: The Indian football team performed brilliantly and achieved its first win in the Asian Games against Bangladesh. India won the match 1-0 with the help of Sunil Chhetri's goal. Captain Sunil Chhetri succeeded in giving India an important victory by scoring a penalty goal in the 85th minute. In the first match against China, the Indian team had to face defeat by 1-5. Now the next match of the Indian team will be against Myanmar on Sunday.

Women's Football Team Suffered Defeat: The Indian women's football team faced defeat in its first match of the Hangzhou Asian Games against Chinese Taipei. India took a 1-0 lead over Chinese Taipei with a goal in the second half. But Chinese Taipei took the lead over India by scoring goals in the 69th and 87th minutes. This lead of Chinese Taipei remained intact till the end of time and India had to face defeat.

Arvind Arjun's Pair Reached The Final: In the lightweight doubles scull of rowing, Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh have made their place in the final of the Asian Games. Both these players remained on top in the repechage round with a time of 6.55.78. Now their final match will be played on Sunday, September 24. In this race, Japan's team stood second while the Philippines finished its game in third position. Apart from this, Satnam Singh and Parminder Singh's pair also managed to make it to the finals.
