Notre Dame Cathedral has reopened for worship after a devastating fire in 2019. Paris Archbishop Laurent Ulrich used a crosier made from fire-damaged beams to knock on its doors, marking the occasion. Security Measures and Public Engagement

Tight security measures were in place for the event, similar to those during the Paris Olympics. The Île de la Cité was closed to tourists, with police and soldiers patrolling the area. Public viewing areas along the Seine accommodated 40,000 spectators watching on large screens.

Notre Dame is expected to attract 15 million visitors annually after reopening, up from 12 million before the fire. The cathedral's significance as a symbol of shared heritage and peace was underscored by international dignitaries attending the event.

Guests entered through Notre Dame's western façade, adorned with biblical carvings. Inside, hundreds awaited the service amid human sounds replacing construction noise. A short film documented the rebuilding effort, showing artisans restoring Notre Dame using traditional techniques.
