California, Feb 3: Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg joined the mission to create awareness among people across the world about Zika virus. It is believed that Zika virus has the potential to create epidemic-like situation in the world.

Hence, World Health Organisation (WHO) too has issued global warning against Zika virus which has already affected thousand of child births in Brazil.

Now, Zuckerberg has taken the new initiative to spread awareness about Zika virus among people, taking advantage of the social media platform.

In his post, the Facebook chief wrote, "As a community, we can help fight the Zika virus by raising awareness. Facebook has partnered with the non-profit Abrasco Divulga in Brazil as part of an effort we'll also roll out across Latin America."
