New York, Dec 12: An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Central East Pacific Rise at 14:33:12 GMT on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 9.1306 degrees south latitude and 109.846 degrees west longitude.

Till now, no damage to property or injury to any individual has been reported.
Officials and residents remain on alert as the region is likely to be hit by another earthquake soon, say reports.
