44 killed in Syria bomb attacks
Damascus, July 27: At least 44 people were killed and over 100 injured when twin bombings rocked the predominantly-Kurdish city of Qamishli in Syria on Wednesday (July 27), the media reported.
One of the blasts was caused by a booby-trapped vehicle which went off near the headquarter of the Kurdish security force called Assayish in the western neighbourhood of Qamishli, Xinhua news agency reported.

Another blast targeted the Kurdish forces outpost in the city.
Qamishli, which is largely controlled by the Kurds, has been the target of repeated bombings by the Islamic State terror group, due to the enmity and clashes between the Kurdish fighters of the US-backed People' Protection Units and the IS.
