28-Year-Old Hyderabad Student, Gas Station Worker, Fatally Shot In US

An Indian student from Telangana was fatally shot by unidentified assailants at a gas station in Dallas, Texas, US, on Friday (local time). The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Chandrashekar Pole, who worked part-time at the gas station while pursuing higher studies in the US.

Pole, a resident of Lal Bahadur Nagar, Hyderabad, had completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) before moving to the US for further education. The tragic incident has left his family members in shock.

According to initial reports, Pole was shot twice in the chest and succumbed to his injuries before he could be taken to a hospital. Dallas Police have arrested one of the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.

Telangana CM Expresses Condolences

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the incident. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Congress leader said his government stands with Pole's family and will provide all necessary assistance to repatriate his mortal remains to Hyderabad.

In Telugu, he wrote: "The death of Pole Chandrasekhar, a student from LB Nagar, in a shooting incident by miscreants in America has caused deep shock and grief. I pray to God that his soul may find peace and express my profound condolences to his family members."

BRS Leader Meets Family

Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Harish Rao met Pole's family members in Hyderabad on Saturday, expressing concern over the tragedy. Rao stated that he and other BRS leaders visited the bereaved family to offer their condolences.

Rao, nephew of BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, posted on X: "It is tragic that Chandra Shekar Pole, a Dalit student from LB Nagar who completed BDS and went to America (Dallas) for higher studies, died in a shooting carried out by miscreants early morning."
